1.0 INTRODUCTION The Public Servants’ Housing Loans Scheme (PSHLS) was established by NRC Decree 319, in March 1975, to provide loans to Public Servants to enable them: Construct new residential dwelling houses Refurbish existing residential properties Pay off loans on properties already acquired Purchase existing residential properties. Don’t transfer fear for maths to children - Lecturer advises parents

A former Dean of the Faculty of Science Education of the University of Education, Winneba, Prof. Samuel Kwasi Asiedu-Addo, has advised parents not to transfer their fear of Mathematics to their children through their words. He said most parents who had difficulty with Mathematics while in school tend to describe the subject with negative words thus involuntarily instilling the fear of the subject into their children. According to him, parents should encourage their children through positive words and not tell them about their own challenges with the subject. He said when parents did that, the children did not feel encouraged to do better in the subject “because after all, even daddy does not like Mathematics”. After WhatsApp shared its updated terms and privacy policy earlier this year, several rumors started circulating online, claiming that the company could read your private messages and share their contents with Facebook. WhatsApp vehemently denied these rumors and claimed that neither it nor Facebook could read your messages or hear your calls on the platform thanks to end-to-end encryption. It even took the opportunity to take a dig at Telegram, as it doesn’t offer end-to-end encryption. However, a new report claims that both WhatsApp and Facebook can somehow view the contents of your private messages. The damning report comes from ProPublica, a non-profit investigative journalism organization with a solid track record. Police begin prosecution: Camera captures 252 offenders

The Ghana Police Service has started the prosecution of 252 people whose vehicles have been captured by special police monitoring cameras across the country for traffic violations. The special cameras, which are installed at all traffic intersections and vantage points throughout the country as part of the Traffic Monitoring and Surveillance Centre, captured the offenders within the last two weeks. The centre is manned by officers of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Police Service. The Director-General of the MTTD, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr Francis Aboagye-Nyarko, who disclosed this at a media interaction in Accra yesterday, said videos of the activities of the offenders would be used as evidence against them in the course of the prosecution. This morning, at around 10.40am we received a mail saying that, “Your blog titled " http://alatipha.blogspot.com/ " was flagged to us for review. We have determined that it violates our guidelines and have made the URL http://alatipha.blogspot.com/ unavailable to blog readers.” The reason for the take down was given as, “Your content has violated our PHISHING policy.” As to what that means, we're still trying to decipher that. Notification of the removal We tried to access the blog from the mail by clicking on one of the links above, and the blog was really missing.
