Manually calculating a person’s age from their date of birth can be tedious and error-prone. 

The AlatiphA xCalcAge feature automates this process, providing an accurate age in years and months.


How It Works

1. Click on AlatiphA xCalcAge tab and then click on the Calculate Age button to open a userform.

2. Click on the calendar icon on the userform to select the date from a pop up calendar.

  • Note: Selecting a cell with a date, the Date Picker will register the date in Date Picker for easy and faster date picking. 

3. Click on Calculate Age button.


4. The age will be displayed in a textbox below the button as you can see above.

GES to roll out PLC sessions across SHSs and SHTSs

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has initiated plans for a national roll out of Professional Learning Community (PLC) sessions across all Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) in Ghana.  This is aimed at strengthening teachers’ understanding and adherence to the National Teachers’ Standards (NTS) and preparing them for the introduction of the new secondary education curriculum which will be rolled-out in the 2024/25 academic year.  GES piloted the use of PLC weekly sessions in 12 SHS and SHTS in January 2022, using structured handbooks developed in partnership with the National Teaching Council (NTC). Gov’t Intervenes As Court Orders Auctioning Of GHANASCO Cars

The Northern Regional Director of Education, Mohammed Haroon Cambodia has confirmed government will be paying a staggering GHC400,000 as judgment debt to a private citizen in order to stop the auctioning of vehicles belonging to the Ghana Senior High School in Tamale. Government is offering the bailout following a chronic transport difficulty that has hit the school for the last two years after a court order impounded the only bus for students and a brand new official pickup vehicle. Two Nissan patrol vehicles belonging to the Education directorate were also taken by the court. The vehicles were confiscated to be auctioned to pay up salary arrears of a former headmaster of the school who accused the school and education service of injustices including inappropriate dismissal and concealing his promotion letter.
