There is a local football tale almost as old as the Ghanaian game itself. Now, whoever spun this story must have had quite a fertile imagination, for virtually every boy who grew up in Ghana in a certain era (this writer included, and probably yourself as well, if you are not too embarrassed to admit it) gobbled it up with wide-eyed boyish curiosity - every surreal bit of it. It is the tale narrating the fictional football match between Ghana and India. The one that ended 100-1 to the latter yet saw the former run out as 'winners'. Depending on which account one is more familiar with, there are quite a few variations. The core of the story, though, remains fairly consistent. So, then, here goes this intriguing fable as most of us heard as toddlers. Ghana played India at an unknown venue and on a similarly obscure date - I am as oblivious to those details as you most likely are - and, somehow, the latter ended up scoring a hundred goals in 90 minutes; again, please don't...
The flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr John Dramani Mahama, has said the 2020 manifesto of the party, which will be launched today, will provide a path to turn Ghana into an advanced nation as soon as possible.
A warehouse belonging to the Northern Regional Rural Integrated Programme (NORRIP) in Tamale was yesterday destroyed by fire. The cause of the fire, which was said to have begun at about 1:45 p.m. yesterday, is yet to be established. Items However, items destroyed at the facility included vulcanising machines, wielding machines, car spare parts, refrigerators, mattresses, beds, furniture, pumping machines, air filters, and four 20-footer containers containing varied household items. In an interview with the Daily Graphic, the acting Programme Manager of NORRIP, Mr Henry Ankrah, said his attention was drawn to the fire at about 2 p.m. by some staff members at the United Nations (UN) offices, which was close to the warehouse. He said when he heard about the fire incident, he quickly called personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS). However, he said, it took the personnel from the fire service between 30 to 40 minutes to arrive at the scene. Mr Ankrah said the...
Chapter 13: Technology Integration in Instruction Chapter Overview The main points in this chapter include the following: Effectiveness of Technology The effectiveness of technology depends on how teachers are able to integrate it into their lesson planning. Lajoie (1993) summarized four cognitive activities that technologies can provide learners: Supporting students’ cognitive processes (e.g., memory or metacognitive processes) Relieving students’ cognitive load by providing for lower-level cognitive skills, leaving more time and effort needed for teaching higher-level cognitive skills Allowing students to engage in cognitive activities in an authentic environment that would be impossible or too costly to replicate in the classroom Promoting students’ higher-level cognitive skills by allowing them to generate solutions and assess themselves in a context they will encounter in future assignments, advanced grades, and the world of work Instructional Technologies Web ...

Two Nissan patrol vehicles belonging to the Education directorate were also taken by the court. The vehicles were confiscated to be auctioned to pay up salary arrears of a former headmaster of the school who accused the school and education service of injustices including inappropriate dismissal and concealing his promotion letter.
