GH¢50,OOO towards the construction of National Cathedral

Image
The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Nuhu Sharibatu, has supported the construction of Ghana's National Cathedral with an amount of GHt50,OOO. Sheikh Sharibatu made the donation when the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Apostle Prof Opoku Onyinah and President of the Ghana Bishops Conference, Archbishop Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle paid a courtesy call on him at his Fadama residence on Thursday, August 26, 2021. He believed that his contribution will go a long way in erecting the Cathedral which is being championed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his government. As part of efforts to finance the project, the general public has been asked to willingly donate an amount of GHCI 00.00 towards the building of the National Cathedral which has received stiff opposition from a section of the public. The Vice-President recently called on faithbased organizations to willingly donate funds to build the Cathedral. Speaking at the Adabraka Official Town branch of the Presbyterian chu...

Two Sunni Factions Clash In Religious Dispute In Tamale

Image
The Ambariyya and Masjidul Bayan rival Sunni Islamic factions in Tamale have clashed at the Northern Regional police headquarters Wednesday morning. The melee was triggered when the leader of the Masjidul Bayan sect, Sheik Ibrahim Baasha, went to the police station to report an attack on his mosque two days ago by the Ambariyya faction. Sheik Bayan, according to Starr News’ Eliasu Tanko, drove to the headquarters and told the police a scholar of the Ambariyya sect attacked him Sunday night while he was preaching about how he broke away from the Ambariyya faction. Hundreds of the Ambariyya members then massed up at the police station to prevent the police from detaining the accused scholar. Violence then broke out as more and more angry Ambariyya members arrived at the station to prevent the detention. Many members of the Masjidul Bayan sect who had also come to the station were attacked and severely beaten. Click to watch video of the clash

It's truly sad - To Allah alone we complain

Image
It is truly sad, our state of affairs. To Allah alone complain. We have so many people who are so full of anger and hatred, towards the rest of humanity, towards their fellow Muslims, towards students of knowledge and scholars and activists, that it appears they have wiped out their basic humanity and mercy. We have uneducated, self-taught followers who believe they are so qualified to give religious verdicts that they can make someone else's life permissible, without ever actually having studied with a single scholar. Googling fatwas and quoting random incidents from the Seerah is enough these days to become a faqih. We have opened up the doors of 'takfir' (excommunicating other Muslims): something that even the greatest of scholars would rarely use against their most heretical opponents is now being tossed around like candy against anyone who disagrees with your position. We have obliterated the concept of husn al-dhann (thinking the best of others), and filled oursel...

Saudis risk new Muslim division with proposal to move Mohamed’s tomb

Image
One of Islam’s most revered holy sites – the tomb of the Prophet Mohamed – could be destroyed and his body removed to an anonymous grave under plans which threaten to spark discord across the Muslim world. The controversial proposals are part of a consultation document by a leading Saudi academic which has been circulated among the supervisors of al-Masjid al-Nabawi mosque in Medina, where the remains of the Prophet are housed under the Green Dome, visited by millions of pilgrims and venerated as Islam’s second-holiest site. The formal custodian of the mosque is Saudi Arabia’s ageing monarch King Abdullah. The plans, brought to light by another Saudi academic who has exposed and criticised the destruction of holy places and artefacts in Mecca – the holiest site in the Muslim world – call for the destruction of chambers around the Prophet’s grave which are particularly venerated by Shia Muslims. The 61-page document also calls for the re...

Mecca for the rich: Islam's holiest site 'turning into Vegas'

Image
Behind closed doors – in places where the religious police cannot listen in – residents of Mecca are beginning to refer to their city as Las Vegas, and the moniker is not a compliment. Over the past 10 years the holiest site in Islam has undergone a huge transformation, one that has divided opinion among Muslims all over the world. Once a dusty desert town struggling to cope with the ever-increasing number of pilgrims arriving for the annual Hajj, the city now soars above its surroundings with a glittering array of skyscrapers, shopping malls and luxury hotels. To the al-Saud monarchy, Mecca is their vision of the future – a steel and concrete metropolis built on the proceeds of enormous oil wealth that showcases their national pride. Yet growing numbers of citizens, particularly those living in the two holy cities of Mecca and Medina, have looked on aghast as the nation's archaeological heritage is trampled under a construction mania backed by hardline clerics who...

Let's unite for the sake of Islam

Image
Peace, unity, reconciliation and forgiveness are what we should stand to acknowledge through wisdom, kindness, liberty, justice, fairness, love: and work to overcome the negative through the creation of a positive mindset that would lead us to a positive environment. We knew that there is more power in unity than in division, more to love than in hate. It is my wish that if there is any website/page we must host about Islam, that website/page must be for peace and unity. Not for senseless arguments. Why are we not bothered about issues that matter to our collective welfare, but our different ASSOCIATIONS and interests. If we read the Islamic history and the development of Islamic Jurisprudence, we will realize that the four Ahle Sunnat Imams of Islamic Jurisprudence, Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Malik, Imam Shafi'e and Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal (May Allah shower His mercy upon them) had very high respect and love for the family of Prophet (Peace be upon him). They learnt Islamic Jurisprude...

Komla Dumor: Irreplaceable broadcaster, unbeatable trailblazer!

Image
I was never a part of Komla Dumor’s inner circle. He never called me out for a drink. And he didn’t share any secrets with me. I am just one of those guys who enjoyed the privilege of working with him. That was more than I could ever ask for. I wasn’t with him at the beginning. I couldn’t have been with him at the end. But in between, our paths crossed and that’s how I get to call him a friend. A blessed friend. A friend endowed with so much talent that whenever I heard his voice I couldn’t help but marvel at how one man could get so much. He had an excellent voice. The truest voice of a broadcaster. That voice was an instrument and he knew how to play it like a virtuoso. He could capture any mood with that voice in a manner most broadcasters struggle for years to achieve. Those inflections and the ability to modulate the voice to suit the occasion came to him naturally. It was an art. He knew his art. He knew his art because he never stopped learnin...

What is so special about being a gay?

Image
Every living soul must praise the Lord. By living souls I mean those social humans who obey God’s Books, His laws and precepts. His testimonies are clear and impeccable. In the 21st century, nations have become disobedient. Immorality is now applauded and debauchery tolerated. The Holy Books are disregarded and sin is ruling the nations, where God is not glorified and magnified. In 1981, Martina Navratilova announced to the nations that she was a lesbian. Some people applauded her announcement with hilarious approval. In all those years there has been lacking the biological agglutination that makes the natural woman to glow. In men, the lack of natural outflow leads to confusion and irrational behavior that can only be cooled by drugs and alcohol. Is this the life that sensible people applaud? On 29th April, 2013, the NBA player Jason  Collins disclosed that he   had been gay. Some well-known politicians applauded his disclosure, with aplomb. What is so special ...

Brotherhood in Islam!

As Muslims, our faith is not complete, and our worship is not sufficient, until we have built the strong bonds of brotherhood amongst ourselves. This fact is frequently forgotten by many Muslims, and these bonds are broken over minor disputes and arguments. This concept of brotherhood is emphasized in the Quran and in the Sunnah, and through the practical actions of the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh). This brotherhood that is established by Islam places upon us certain rights and responsibilities that we must fulfill towards our Muslim brothers. Before we proceed any further, it must be made clear to anyone reading this that although we use the term "brotherhood" in this article, it is meant to encompass both genders, and to include sisterhood between Muslim sisters as well. The first important point to note is that this brotherhood between believers was established by Allah (swt) Himself, in the Quran: "Believers are indeed brothers" (Al-Hujurat, verse 10) Allah (...

God is good and everything he does is perfect!

A king once had a slave who, in all circumstances said: "My king, do not be discouraged because everything God does is perfect, no mistakes..." One day, they went hunting and a wild animal attacked the king, the slave managed to kill the animal but couldn't prevent his majesty losing a finger. Furious and without showing gratitude, the King said; "if God was good, I would not have been attacked and lost one finger!" The slave replied: "Despite all these things, I can only tell you that God is good and everything he does is perfect. He is never wrong!" Outraged by the response, the king ordered the arrest of his slave. Later, he left for another hunt and was captured by savages who made human sacrifices. In the altar, the savages found out that the king didn't have one finger in place so he was released because he was considered not"complete" to be offered to the gods. On his return to the palace, he authorized the release of his s...

Mencken's Creed!

I believe that no discovery of fact, however trivial, can be wholly useless to the race, and that no trumpeting of falsehood, however virtuous in intent, can be anything but vicious. I believe that all government is evil, in that all government must necessarily make war upon liberty... I believe that the evidence for immortality is no better than the evidence of witches, and deserves no more respect. I believe in the complete freedom of thought and speech... I believe in the capacity of man to conquer his world, and to find out what it is made of, and how it is run. I believe in the reality of progress. I - But the whole thing, after all, may be put very simply. I believe that it is better to tell the truth than to lie. I believe that it is better to be free than to be a slave. And I believe that it is better to know than be ignorant.

Death- from the womb to the tomb!

You know, when ever people use the word death, they use it like a whisper. They'll say, he or she died. We use it for somebody else and even when we see people dying in a war, been killed, even when we're entertained. We lie to ourselves because they're only actors. They're not good as been killed. They're only acting. So the scenario of death, doesn't even come to us. It doesn't really reach home. You're busy piling up, calculating, developing your carrier, your money, your occupation, your wealth. Until you visit the funeral. Think about it, when was the last time that you went to a funeral or grave? Was it your mother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin...? When you went and saw that person whom you loved, that was laughing, crying, boasting, wealthy, educated, denied arrogant, what ever they were. What was the demeanor of the people when you walked into that funeral. Where they cracking jokes, dancing, clapping, singing. No! Silence, melancho...

The cover it all!

What comes to your mind when you think of a Muslim woman? A mysterious, veiled victim of male oppression, awaiting Western liberation? A slogan-shouting terrorist? An uneducated foreigner with whom you have little or nothing in common? Unless your social circle includes Muslim friends and acquaintances, the chances are that your impressions of Muslim women have largely been formed by negative media stereotypes - images that usually have little to do with real life, and may have been designed to attract more viewers, sell more products, or gain support for someone's political agenda. How much do you really know about Muslim women's lives or views, and why does it matter? Well, for one thing, Muslims account for 20-25% of the people on this planet, and Islam has become the second main religion in Europe. But did you know that the majority of European and American converts to Islam are women - not men? Would it surprise you to learn that many women in the Muslim world feel sor...

So scary yet so poetic!

Holy Quran 2:41 And believe in what I have sent down confirming that which is [already] with you, and be not the first to disbelieve in it. And do not exchange My signs for a small price, and fear [only] Me. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, the One, without any partner. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger. These are the days that the Prophets foretold: wars and rumors of wars, principalities in high places, disease, plagues, the dragon and the beast. But who is there to stand up against Shaytan? Where are the witnesses willing and able to be a true Martyr? No not a terrorist a Martyr (putting yourself in the position to die for the sake of Allah). This beast was designed to be taken down not by the sword but by the Truth. I'm a witness to all she has done and by the lyrics that I write whether you love them or hate them I will do my part. Jihad is the struggle that I fight within mysel...

Superficiality!

Superficiality is the curse of ourage. The doctrine of instant satisfaction is a primary spiritual problem. The desperate need today is not for a greater number of intelligent people, or gifted people, but for deep people. ¤Richard J. Foster

Greatest passion!

A religious man is a person who holds God and man in one thought at one time, at all times, who suffers harm done to others, whose greatest passion is compassion, whose greatest strength is love and defiance of despair. ¤Abraham Joshua Heschel

In questions of science!

In questions of science the authority of a thousand is not worth the humble reasoning of a single individual. I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use. ¤Galileo Galilei

THE MOST PROFOUND IN HIS STORY!

Who do you think is most profound in the history (his story) of the world? I guess it's easy to find out in this age of computer and internet. I say to you. All of you intelligent people in this internet age, you've the capacity and the ability to go to a computer or a mobile device and punch the name MUHAMMED or click on the link below if you can: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad See who Muhammad(PBUH) was. Read his life, legacy, and then after that, I challenge you to go and find any where in the history of the human beings, whose life, behaviour and legacy compares to Muhammad (PBUH). Because most of the profound and greatest biographers of this age, came together to do the same thing I'm challenging you to do. And they came out with what they considered to be the one hundred most influential and profound human beings in history. What name do you think these historians came out with? I don't need you to guess. I will tell you straight forward. The nam...

DEATH! PART TWO

DEATH! PART II You and I know that death is like a sleep. The spirit is gone but the body is there... Your can't call out, shout, say don't leave me here. But you're going to be hearing and seeing because that is a different kind of conciousness. But you can't move. Why is it that we just don't live and disappear? Because we're called upon to go into another womb called the tomb. You start up in the womb of your mother and you'll end up in the tomb of the earth. That is from the tomb to the womb. That's the whole trip and this is what you'll have to think about. That grave is going to be a place of drama and trauma? If the person who gave you life in the begining, is He not gonna be able to give you life again and judge you? You may want to deny it because you don't want to be judged. But you'll be judged... Death is a fact that nobody can deny it. Is there somebody who thinks he/she is not going to die? If you don't want to agree...
