Distribution of laptops to teachers begun

The long-wait for the distribution of laptops to teachers seems to have come to an end as distribution has begun following the delivery of two hundred and eighty thousand laptops to Ghana Education Service.

Information gathered by our team indicates that some teachers in some districts have been given their laptops.

We can vividly confirm that some districts in the Eastern Region have started the distribution.

Districts in other regions will also start to distribute very soon.

The laptops contained teaching resources such as  the Standard Based Curriculum and the Common Core Curriculum as seen below:

The aim of the laptops distribution initiative is to help teachers in the Ghana to get acquainted with ICT advancement in the Education sector to help in gathering more facts on known or unknown topics.

Per agreement between the government, GES and the three teacher unions, teachers are therefore to pay 30% of the amount while the government pays the remaining70%. The actual cost of one laptop is GHC1550.
