This book, is the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana. It’s the supreme law of the people of Ghana. It was approved on the 28th April, 1992, through a national referendum after 92% support.

This book, been the constitution, defines the fundamental political principles, establishing the structure, procedures, powers and duties of the government, structure of the judiciary and legislature, and spells out the fundamental rights and duties of citizen.

This book contains:
1. Constitution of the Republic of Ghana (1992)
2. Schedules
3. Constitution of the Republic of Ghana (Amendment) Act 527, 1996

The Constitution of the Republic of Ghana (1992) contains twenty six (26) chapters with two hundred and ninety nine (299) Articles.
Article 299, is the transitional Provision. It consists of two (2) schedules. The first schedule consists of Four (4) parts: the president, Parliament, Judiciary and Miscellaneous. The second schedule consists of the oaths.

Since the Constitution came into force, nine (9) articles have been amended in 1996. Currently, the constitution has gone through another amendment and is awaiting referendum to approve the amendment.
