Ibrahim Mahama invites ‘brother’ Owusu Bempah home for tea, pardons payment of GH¢203,000

The Director of communications at Ghana Gas Company Limited Ernest Owusu Bempah has received and accepted an invitation “to come home for tea” from the CEO of Engineers and Planners, Ibrahim Mahama, MyNewsGh.com reports.

Mr. Mahama who described Ernest Owusu Bempah as his “younger brother” invited him to come home, indicating a sealing of peace and forgiveness from the businessman.

The businessman had secured a court order to empty Ernest Owusu Bempah’s account of Ghc310,000 but only Ghc107,000 was found in his account at NIB.

Sources hinted MyNewsGh.com that the generous Ibrahim Mahama who “didn’t actually need the Ghc310,000 for anything” pardoned Ernest Owusu Bempah from paying the balance. This is yet to be confirmed though.

All this comes after Owusu Bempah placed a call to apologize to the businessman after issuing out an official apology as well to the magnanimous businessman who in 2018, the business mogul sued along with the Despite Group of Companies, operators of UTV for defaming him.

On March 3, 2018, the Ghana Gas Communication boss made a statement on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsoroma’ show that former President Mahama’s brother, Ibrahim is a thief.

However, in his apology letter, Mr. Owusu Bempah said, “The statement which I made then was made without any basis and was made without due regard to the hard-earned reputation of Mr. Ibrahim Mahama and I ought not to have made same. That statement I made about Mr. Ibrahim Mahama was not true then and is not true now and can never be true and that I have no reason to make the statement.”

Mr. Owusu Bempah further said, “Irrespective of how it happened, the facts remain that I should never have made such a statement of Mr Ibrahim Mahama. The statement was clearly derogatory and defamatory of the person and the enviable achievements of Mr. Ibrahim Mahama. I sincerely regret making that statement about him.”

Family To Auction GHANASCO Cars As Govt Fails To Intervene

The family of late Lionel Mahama, a former headmaster of the Ghana Senior High School (Ghanasco) in Tamale, who won a court case against the school and Education service for wrongful demotion and freeze of salary, is ready to auction the confiscated assets of the school after failure by authorities, including government to pay a judgment debt awarded by the court.  Diana Awuni, daughter of the late headmaster told Starr News the family had finally secured a clearance document from the court and that a Kumasi-based auctioneer would arrive in Tamale in a fortnight to begin the process to liquidate the vehicles. 250 Labone students sacked for non-performance

Two hundred and fifty students of the Labone Senior High School (SHS) have been sacked for their abysmal performance in the end-of-year examination in July, this year. The students, who had an average of four failures in eight subjects, were sent packing when the first term of the 2014/2015 academic year began. Out of the number sacked, 155 of them were second-year students who were supposed to go to Form Three, while 95 were first-year students entering their second year.Also, 171 students who had an average of three failures in the examination have been asked to repeat their forms. About 800 Form Two students of the school were supposed to enter Form Three, while the number of first years who were expected to enter second year was 1,000. Soldiers Brutalise Students Of Wa Islamic School

Two students of the Islamic Senior High School in Wa were admitted to hospital yesterday following a high-handed military action to quell a stand-off between the students and the school authorities. The students, a male and a female, were the main casualties of an apparent simultaneous police and military action to break the front of the students, as their peaceful protest degenerated into chaos. The soldiers allegedly invaded the girls’ dormitory and started beating the riotous students following a call to the police to go to the school and restore order. Gov’t Intervenes As Court Orders Auctioning Of GHANASCO Cars

The Northern Regional Director of Education, Mohammed Haroon Cambodia has confirmed government will be paying a staggering GHC400,000 as judgment debt to a private citizen in order to stop the auctioning of vehicles belonging to the Ghana Senior High School in Tamale. Government is offering the bailout following a chronic transport difficulty that has hit the school for the last two years after a court order impounded the only bus for students and a brand new official pickup vehicle. Two Nissan patrol vehicles belonging to the Education directorate were also taken by the court. The vehicles were confiscated to be auctioned to pay up salary arrears of a former headmaster of the school who accused the school and education service of injustices including inappropriate dismissal and concealing his promotion letter.
