Karaga MP Amin Adam to sponsor 20 top BECE graduates in his constituency through to university

 The Member of Parliament for Karaga Constituency in the Northern Region, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, popularly known as Amin Anta, has promised to sponsor 20 best students out of the 770 students who sat for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in his constituency.

According to him, this will boost the morale of other young children in the constituency to also take their education seriously.

He explained that this is one of the ways he intends to use in raising the educational levels in the Karaga constituency.

Dr. Amin made this promise when he addressed the graduates on Friday, November 19, 2021 at the Karaga Senior High School premises where the examination took place.

He also reminded the graduates of their role in the society and encouraged them to aim high in their academic pursuits.

As an incentive, Dr. Adam promised to enrol 20 students who would excel the most in the exam under the Anta Scholarship fund. This sponsorship according to the MP would last till they complete university.

Dr. Amin insisted that he remains committed to advocating for the human and societal development of the good people of Karaga as he believes that with the right mentorship and incentives, youth from his constituency would rise to the occasion to be most beneficial to the country.

Hon. Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam thus appealed to the 2021 BECE graduates to be the best version of young graduates as the future of the country depends on them.

Dr. Amin further reiterated that it was his hope that the graduates would come out with flying colours to be beneficiaries of the flagship free secondary education programme of President Nana Akufo-Addo.

“I am very optimistic that with the free secondary education programme which has offered young people a very enviable opportunity to be educated in recent times, your dreams and aspirations to be impactful citizens for this country in future would be actualised”, Dr. Amin said.

“I therefore urge you all to keep the zeal to study as you patiently wait for your results”, he added.

He also assured the students of the availability of opportunities in the Anta Scholarship Fund for qualified but needy students at the tertiary level.

Together with members of the examination team present, the lawmaker emphasized the pending completion of some educational infrastructure to provide secondary, technical, and vocational education for the constituents.

Family To Auction GHANASCO Cars As Govt Fails To Intervene

The family of late Lionel Mahama, a former headmaster of the Ghana Senior High School (Ghanasco) in Tamale, who won a court case against the school and Education service for wrongful demotion and freeze of salary, is ready to auction the confiscated assets of the school after failure by authorities, including government to pay a judgment debt awarded by the court.  Diana Awuni, daughter of the late headmaster told Starr News the family had finally secured a clearance document from the court and that a Kumasi-based auctioneer would arrive in Tamale in a fortnight to begin the process to liquidate the vehicles. 250 Labone students sacked for non-performance

Two hundred and fifty students of the Labone Senior High School (SHS) have been sacked for their abysmal performance in the end-of-year examination in July, this year. The students, who had an average of four failures in eight subjects, were sent packing when the first term of the 2014/2015 academic year began. Out of the number sacked, 155 of them were second-year students who were supposed to go to Form Three, while 95 were first-year students entering their second year.Also, 171 students who had an average of three failures in the examination have been asked to repeat their forms. About 800 Form Two students of the school were supposed to enter Form Three, while the number of first years who were expected to enter second year was 1,000. Soldiers Brutalise Students Of Wa Islamic School

Two students of the Islamic Senior High School in Wa were admitted to hospital yesterday following a high-handed military action to quell a stand-off between the students and the school authorities. The students, a male and a female, were the main casualties of an apparent simultaneous police and military action to break the front of the students, as their peaceful protest degenerated into chaos. The soldiers allegedly invaded the girls’ dormitory and started beating the riotous students following a call to the police to go to the school and restore order. The two students were being treated and monitored at the Islamic Hospital in Wa as of press time yesterday, hospital sources told the Daily Graphic. Gov’t Intervenes As Court Orders Auctioning Of GHANASCO Cars

The Northern Regional Director of Education, Mohammed Haroon Cambodia has confirmed government will be paying a staggering GHC400,000 as judgment debt to a private citizen in order to stop the auctioning of vehicles belonging to the Ghana Senior High School in Tamale. Government is offering the bailout following a chronic transport difficulty that has hit the school for the last two years after a court order impounded the only bus for students and a brand new official pickup vehicle. Two Nissan patrol vehicles belonging to the Education directorate were also taken by the court. The vehicles were confiscated to be auctioned to pay up salary arrears of a former headmaster of the school who accused the school and education service of injustices including inappropriate dismissal and concealing his promotion letter.
