Tamale central constituency NPP meets EC
Tamale Metro Electoral Commission is to meet with leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tamale central constituency on Tuesday August 26, 2014 over the alleged registration of minors during the limited voter registration exercise.
NPP polling agents who monitored the 10 days exercise in the Tamale Metro Area protested the registration of 21 alleged minors.
Director of the Tamale Metro Electoral Commission, Andani Naatogmah Issah scheduled a meeting with the NPP leadership over the matter.
By extension, he invited the registered voters whose legitimacy has been questioned to defend themselves.
They will be required to present their birth certificates and other relevant documents to prove their critics wrong.
The NPP Tamale central constituency Secretary, Musah Mutawakil told Citi News they were ready to substantiate their claims.
He claimed some of the registered voters did not attain the voting age which necessitated the party agents’ decision to fill the challenge forms.
Musah Mutawakil that notwithstanding commended the Electoral Commission for a good work done.
