Don't give up loving!

There was this man who saw a scorpion floundering around in the water. He decided to save it by stretching out his finger, but the scorpion stung him. The man still tried to get the scorpion out of the water, but the scorpion stung him again.

Another man nearby told him to stop saving the scorpion that kept stinging him. But the man said,

"It is the nature of the scorpion to sting. It is my nature to love. Why should I give up my nature to love just because it is the nature of the scorpion to sting?"

LESSON:
Don't give up loving? Don't give up your goodness even if the people around you sting you. The greatness comes not when things are always going well for you. But the greatness comes when you're really tested, when you take some knocks, some disappointments, when sadness comes.. . Because only if you've been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.

Tamale to Host Ghana Teacher Prize - 2022

Ghana Teacher Prize, an award scheme instituted to honour outstanding teachers annually is to be held this year in Tamale.   At a planning committee meeting held in the month of February, 2022, Tamale was proposed as the venue for this year’s Ghana Teacher Prize. This has subsequently been approved by the Honourable Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum. WAEC clashes with Islamic authorities over wearing of hijab

A directive by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) asking Muslim girls to remove their headscarves or hijab, before taking passport pictures for their Basic Education Certificate Exam (BECE) registration has displeased the Islamic Unit of the Ghana Education Service (GES). Joy News correspondent Kwame Owusu Peprah has reported that the tussle over religious rights is happening in some basic schools in the Western Region. The Islamic unit finds the position of the WEAC officials unacceptable, describing it as an attempt to violate their religious freedom. WEAC's directive is asking that the girls show at least their ears and part of the forehead while taking the passport photos. Head of the GES’ Islamic unit Alhaji Mohammed Sanni told Joy News “the hijab is part of our Islamic traditions. Notional and Substantive Dates Explained

You are likely to come across these two phrases: " Notional Date " and " Substantive Date ", on you promotion letter. These are what they mean.  NOTIONAL DATE is the official date of a newly promoted/upgraded/appointed staff. This is the actual date the staff is qualified to be promoted or upgraded to their new ranks/grades in the Ghana Education Service.   For example, if a newly trained Teacher is appointed in September 2020 to the rank of Senior Supt II, all things being equal, the staff will be ready for promotion to Supt 1 in September 2024.  However, these dates are not always used for salary adjustments and the staff may also not be necessarily paid with effect from these dates.  But Notional Dates are used for the purposes of promotion and appointment.
