Two attorneys went for a launch and ordered two drinks.

Then they produced sandwiches from their briefcases and were about to eat it when de owner of de bar marched over and told them,

"you can't eat your own sandwiches in here".

De attorneys looked at each other, shruggle their shoulders and then exchange their sandwiches.

Tamale to Host Ghana Teacher Prize - 2022

Ghana Teacher Prize, an award scheme instituted to honour outstanding teachers annually is to be held this year in Tamale.   At a planning committee meeting held in the month of February, 2022, Tamale was proposed as the venue for this year’s Ghana Teacher Prize. This has subsequently been approved by the Honourable Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum. On Friday, April 22, 2022, Dr. Christian Addai-Poku, the Registrar of NTC led a delegation made up of Miss Grace Agyeman Duah, the National Coordinator of GTP, Mr. Dennis Osei-Owusu, the Public Relations Officer of NTC, Miss Grace Adoma Ababio of Standards and Compliance Department of NTC and Mrs. Rhoda Ohene Tuffour, Budget Officer of NTC to meet with the Northern Regional Education Directorate and the Local Planning Committee (LOC).  GTP is a three-day event which commences from 3rd to 5th of October annually. WAEC clashes with Islamic authorities over wearing of hijab

A directive by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) asking Muslim girls to remove their headscarves or hijab, before taking passport pictures for their Basic Education Certificate Exam (BECE) registration has displeased the Islamic Unit of the Ghana Education Service (GES). Joy News correspondent Kwame Owusu Peprah has reported that the tussle over religious rights is happening in some basic schools in the Western Region. The Islamic unit finds the position of the WEAC officials unacceptable, describing it as an attempt to violate their religious freedom. WEAC's directive is asking that the girls show at least their ears and part of the forehead while taking the passport photos. Head of the GES’ Islamic unit Alhaji Mohammed Sanni told Joy News “the hijab is part of our Islamic traditions. Congratulations to three of our own for taking all top three (3) awards at the just ended 2023 West African Examinations Council (WAEC) International Excellence Awards. The three outstanding students were awarded at the 72nd Annual Council Meeting in Freetown, Sierra Leone on Tuesday, 19th March 2024. Tuesday was a historic day for me and the Ghanaian delegation who cheered our students on to receive the first, second and third place awards.
