2021 Ghana Teacher Prize Launched
Rev. Ntim Fordjour, Deputy Education minister On behalf of the Minister for Education, Hon Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, launched 2021 Ghana Teacher Prize at NAGRAT Lyceum in Accra.
He assured,
"With a deep sense of pride, we recognise the essential contribution of members of our noble profession to the socio-economic development of our country. A transparent, fair and meritorious system of awarding our most outstanding teachers since 1995 is worth sustaining. The government of HE Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will sustain its commitment to the welfare and motivation of teachers."
The theme for the launch was, "Teachers Wanted: Reclaiming Teaching and Learning for Human-Centered Recovery."
Ghana Teacher Prize
The Ghana Teacher Prize, which seeks to reward high performing teachers in the country, is also to motivate teachers across all educational levels in the country.
The three-day event will commence from 3rd to 5th of October, this year in Sunyani. The first two days will be used for symposium and exhibition.
The last day, 5th October (world teachers’ day) is the climax and the President of the Republic of Ghana is expected to be the Guest of Honour.
Prizes
The winner will receive a three-bedroom house, with the first runner-up taking home a 4X4 double-cabin pickup truck and the second runner-up receiving a saloon car. Both vehicles are being sponsored by Prudential Bank Limited and Databank Limited.
Other prizes, including fridgs, deep freezers, laptops, television sets, educational materials and cash prizes, will be presented to other deserving schools and teachers.
