Extraordinary leaders!

Great leaders are extraordinary but were they born that way? No. I think they started out as ordinary people and made cumulative choices (perspectives to take, lessons to learn paths to take etc) that over time snowballed into the realm of "extraordinariness".

The person also may have had opportunities that other leaders did not have. But not everyone can lead and certainly not all leaders can be great leaders. Therefore, it is possible that "great leaders" have some "inherent extraordinariness" in them that just wasn't mature enough in their ordinary days and simply got developed over the course of their "ascent to greatness".

If everyone can be a great leader then it is a major indictment for all ordinary and lousy leaders out there. Are they just lazy or did they lack opportunities to develop the greatness in them? Is ordinary the "normal" or is it the "abnormal"?

Great Leaders must be EXTRA- ordinary and move away from the ordinary, the normal norm, the ALL known and be able to delve and accept greater risks than the average hence be ABOVE the average to be GREAT leaders.

Giving that we are ALL leaders and depending on how we individually project and position ourselves to success, there certainly must be EXTRA input, commitment, dedication, devotion and direction of purpose beyond the ORDINARY to be a GREATER ONE hence a Great Leader.

No good thing comes off easy and from the ordinary, and Ordinary is NOT and NEVER about size, wealth or strength let ALONE the EXTRA. The EXTRA has everything to do with Knowledge which MUST be very RELEVANT and Not Ordinary knowledge, Vision, Foresight, Insight and Hindsight as well as excellently relates to LOYALTY, SINCERITY, RESPECT, INTEGRITY but most of all MUST have that key element of FAITH, HOPE and LOVE and be relevant and related to Humanity and Mankind.

These amidst a whole lot of qualities do we tout around as MUST BE and MUST HAVE qualities of a Leader and MUST be well exemplified in EXCELLENCE in a GREAT leader and NOT and NEVER about MEDIOCRE presentations as has become SO COMMON in today's world of "Knowledge" where corruption and the ability and capacity to Illegal wealth and acquisitions by any or all can be projected, propagated and Respected as knowledge and excellence.

Greatness of leadership exudes great Morality and not about Filth, Opulence or Impudence as we see paraded around in these times of leadership; be it at State leadership levels, Corporate leadership and even into Religious Leadership. Greatness of Leadership must be able to stand the test of time hence must be Within and Out of Season and it takes that something EXTRA to sustain Ones leadership Within and Out of Season when ones term in Office is OVER and One has been LONG GONE to continue to be seen and adjudged as a GREAT LEADER when the clouds have been long gone and settled.

That EXTRA requirement can equally be found in doing and projecting VERY SIMPLE things in RELEVANCE to the requirements of society and in providing and ensuring greater well being and not in necessarily struggling to to do things to be seen as great. Greatness is an End product of a Process and not just an over night Event which cannot be sustained or a "One Page Activity".

That EXTRA also resides very greatly in the expression of TRUTH and in great WISDOM no matter how bitter that TRUTH can be. It equally takes Courage and BOLDNESS in the expression of that EXTRA ordinary quality and Character to be a GREAT LEADER and nothing about Brutal Strength or Wishy Washy populist approach, nor the flaunting of wealth, nor the promotion of Sycophancy and Human worship with Praise Singers; for GREATNESS is NEVER found in Ignorance and Mediocre propagations as is characterized with much of our world especially in my part of the world of Africa especially my country Ghana, where Greatness is couched in Wealth and Popularity as against Prosperity and Fame.

Greatness is certainly built around Fame and Prosperity for a great person MUST be famous for a reason, purpose course or something tangible; while Prosperity MUST not be wrongly projected as WEALTH instead of Success, Fulfillment, Satisfaction and a Content Life and Living, the foundations in which the EXTRA sustains.

It indeed takes EXTRA ordinariness; Conscious or Unconscious, Deliberate or Accidental, Latently weak or Brusque Expression for a leader to be GREAT. This EXTRA traits into GREATNESS can be Divine but can be applied by Learning as greatness is about expression, achievement and results be it a Genius, Clairvoyance or Realist and could equally be in Chance or Target Confidence. This said, these are Ordinary people who go the EXTRA mile and distance and challenge to see things done the right way and in doing the right things either in Failure or Success.
