Nayiri commends Bashiru Imoro Ibn Saeed on vice chancellor appointment
The Nayiri, Naa Bohugu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga, King and Overlord of the Mamprugu Kingdom, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Bashiru Imoro Ibn Saeed on his appointment as the new Vice Chancellor of Tamale Technical University (TaTU).
In a statement dated 24 June 2024, the Nayiri lauded Saeed’s distinguished academic career, which includes Saeed’s role as the first board chairman of Kpasenkpe Senior High STEM School and his contributions as a reviewer for prestigious journals such as the Journal of Applied Statistics, Taylor & Francis Group, and SAGE Open.
Saeed’s election to the International Statistical Institute (ISI) further emphasises his academic excellence.
“This prestigious position is not only a testament to your exceptional academic achievements and leadership skills but also a recognition of your unwavering commitment to advancing higher education in Ghana,” the Nayiri stated.
Saeed, who has over a decade of experience in academia, has received numerous accolades for his contributions to education in Ghana.
His expertise in statistics, particularly in statistical capacity development and health informatics, has earned him a reputation as a leading scholar.
He was promoted to the rank of professor on 19 August 2021, becoming the first professor at TaTU.
The Nayiri expressed confidence in Saeed’s leadership, noting, “As you assume this pivotal role as a distinguished son of the great Mamprugu Kingdom and, by extension, the Gbewaa fraternity, we are confident that your visionary leadership will propel Tamale Technical University to new heights.”
He concluded, “We wish you every success in your new position and look forward to witnessing the positive impact of your leadership on the university and beyond.”
