Specifications of TM 1 Laptop For Teachers

The management of Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the exact features / specifications of the Teachers Mate 1 (TM 1) laptop that is to be distributed to all public school teachers.

The government of Ghana will take up 70% of the cost of GHS1,550 of each laptop, whiles the teacher pay the remaining 30%.

The laptop, however, becomes the personal property of the teacher and serves the benefit of providing the tool for developing the teacher's professional capacity.

According to GES, teachers will enjoy learning anytime, everywhere with unparalleled functional features, performance, and all-day battery life of the TM 1.

MTN Supports 'Girls in ICT' with GH¢10 million

JHS student fined GH¢1,800 for assaulting teacher who punished him

An Accra Juvenile Court has sentenced a final year student of the Nungua Kroma Two Junior High School, who assaulted a teacher for punishing him, to a fine of GH¢1,800. The student, in default, would serve three months jail term. He had denied conspiring with 15 other men to assault the teacher for punishing him for his failure to do his homework, but the Court, at the end of the trial, found him guilty. The Prosecution called five witnesses to make the case. It earlier told the Court that the convict (name withheld) had refused to do his homework and after he was punished, he dashed home to call 15 other young men, who allegedly stormed the school in a Sprinter bus and attacked the teacher, inflicting wounds on his face. The teacher, Mr Moses Onyameasem, was rescued by his colleagues and rushed to the LEKMA Hospital, Accra, where he was treated and discharged. WAEC reschedules WASSCE Physics, Business Management papers

The Physics and Business Management examination in the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) which was scheduled for Wednesday [September 15] have been rescheduled. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is expected to announce a new date and time the papers are to be written. "A new date for the rescheduled papers (Physics 1 & 2 and Business Management 1 & 2) will be communicated in due course. However Automechanics 2 & 1 will be administered today, 15th September at 2pm as scheduled," WAEC stated at a press briefing on Wednesday morning.
