Dictate

The teacher told her class the word of the day was "dictate" and asked who could spell it.

Naporo raised his hand and he spelled out, "d-i-k-t-a-t-e."

The teacher said, "sorry that's wrong".

Then she asked Yam-Naa.

Yam-Naa slowly spelled out, "d-i-c-k-t-a-t-e".

"Sorry" says the teacher, "that's not right either."

Next, she asked Maryam. After a slight pause Maryam began spelling, "d-i-c-t-a-t-e."

"Very good Maryam," applauded the teacher, "that's correct.

Now," the teacher continued, "I want someone to use the word in a sentence?"

Yam-Naa raised his hand quick as a flash shouting, "I know-I know,"

"OK" replied the teacher, "please use the word dictate in a sentence, Yam-Naa".

Yam-Naa responded, "How did my dicktate last night, Maryam?"

10 arrested as protesters besiege Gupke Naa’s palace

The Police Rapid Deployment Force in Tamale on Friday arrested 10 people after fighting broke out at the Gupkegu Palace in Tamale.  The fight, between palace guards and youth of choggu, who violently besieged the palace to demand release of their colleagues arrested earlier for launching a brutal arson attack on the residence of a sub-chief accused of wizardry.  Scores of the youth sustained injuries and many others fled leaving behind motorbikes and other belongings at the palace, in the open confrontation that was triggered by the illegal invasion of the palace and some comments made by the youth that the guards and warriors of the Gukpe Naa deemed “disrespectful”.  According to Secretary of the Gupke Naa, Saha-Naa Abdul Rashid, the youth caused an abomination when they drummed and sung war songs into the palace and insulted the linguist, who received and was addressing them on behalf of the Tamale overlord.  “The arrival of the Rapid Deployment Unit was a div

The perceived cluelessness of President John Mahama's administration is about as old news as Ex-President John Kuffuor assertion that corruption is as old as Adam. It was patently obvious that from the very first day JDM stood close enough to power, he lacked the very gusto and presence of mind to lead A nation this complex, complicated and tasking. Nevertheless, the people elected him. To millions, their vote for JM was an “aspirational” one; it was a statement of hope that things could be better. Dagbon Traditional Council  Dagboŋ Traditional Council Meets on Regional Reorganization Saturday, 23 December 2017 The Regent of Dagboŋ, and acting President of the Dagboŋ Traditional Council, Kampakuya-Naa, Andani Yakubu Abdulai called a special Expanded Council meeting to discuss the Government initiated Constitutional processes on Regional Reorganization. The Special Meeting of the Dagboŋ Traditional Council (DTC) was held at the forecourt of the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi today. A leader is a thinking individual and a political being. He must have a trained mind, an analytical disposition and the vision to move his nation forward. Mere ambition is not enough, If wishes were horses, beggars will ride. Advisers are not enough, since an adviser, should not be a teacher on elementary concepts, which the leader should have been seized of, if he had learned about relevant concepts earlier in life before dabbling in politics, because of lack of any other things to do!!! Governing a state and its people, should not be reduced to guess-work, petty quarrels, seeking for posts, which the seeker is incapable of handling. Gov’t Intervenes As Court Orders Auctioning Of GHANASCO Cars

The Northern Regional Director of Education, Mohammed Haroon Cambodia has confirmed government will be paying a staggering GHC400,000 as judgment debt to a private citizen in order to stop the auctioning of vehicles belonging to the Ghana Senior High School in Tamale. Government is offering the bailout following a chronic transport difficulty that has hit the school for the last two years after a court order impounded the only bus for students and a brand new official pickup vehicle. Two Nissan patrol vehicles belonging to the Education directorate were also taken by the court. The vehicles were confiscated to be auctioned to pay up salary arrears of a former headmaster of the school who accused the school and education service of injustices including inappropriate dismissal and concealing his promotion letter. Late Lionel Mahama was dismissed as headmaster of the school in 1997. His salary was blocked for years until a CHRAJ ruled in his favor and ordered his reinstateme
