NaSIA engages stakeholders on its existence, mandate, and core services

NaSIA has been engaging in a stakeholder campaign to create an awareness of its existence, mandate, and core services since April 2021.

The second phase of the engagement began in Goaso in the Ahafo Region, followed by Sunyani in the Bono Region, and ended in Techiman, Bono East Region at the Encom Hotel with over 100 participants.

In attendance were the Regional Chief Director representing the Bono East Regional Minister, Regional Director of Education, Municipal Director of Education, School Improvement Support Officer (SISO), Regional President of Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS), Regional President of the Ghana National Council of Private Schools(GNACOPS), Representatives from the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Ghana National Association of Teachers ( GNAT), Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT), Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools(CHASS), and Ghana National Education Coalition Campaign(GNECC).

Some key takeaways were:

1. Before a proprietor starts operating a new school, he/ she must go through NaSIA’s digitized School Establishment process by visiting https://www.nasia.gov.gh/registration/sl/ and completing the three-step processes. Thus, the Application for Authorization (AfA Form), Expression of Interest (EoI) Form, and Notice of Intent to Operate (NoI) Form.

2. When all documentation has been submitted and payments made, it usually takes two (2) weeks from the date of inspections to acquire a provisional license.

3. After three (3) successful Provisional Licenses, a school can qualify for a Full License after NaSIA conducts a whole school Inspection.

4. NaSIA reserves the rights to visit and inspect a school any day and time as mandated by the law. However, when necessary, our inspectors may call or email the school ahead of a visit.
